Sustainable transport

Transport 2000

Transport 2000 is the independent national campaign body concerned with sustainable transport. It aims to reduce the environmental and social impact of transport by encouraging less use of cars and more use of public transport, cycling and walking. UNISON has been a core funder of T2000 since 1999,with a seat on the Board and membership of the Policy Council.

We work with T2000 to develop policies which promote greater bus use and tackle the problems associated with transport and social exclusion, including the impact on children, disabled people, the elderly and low-income families.
