Public services will rebuild our communities

"We will not allow our members to pay for the greed and arrogance of others," warned Dave Prentis at Black members' conference, vowing UNISON will continue to fight against cuts in public services.

While bankers had driven us into a recesssion, "it's our public services who'll pull us through. It's our members who'll rebuild our communities," Mr. Prentis told delegates.

He also promised the union's "strongest campaign yet" to fight the far right and stop the British National Party gaining power in this year's general and local council elections.
