'Public services make us civilised'

(19/06/08) Trade unions need to think globally to protect ideal of humane communities, guest speaker James Clancy told delegates this morning.

"Public services are critical to ensure that, as globalisation rolls out in this century, average folks, ordinary working men and women have a chance," said the president of Canada's National Union of Public and General Employees.
