Sixth forms

UNISON is the main union for support staff working in sixth form colleges. Our members include learning support staff, librarians, IT specialists, technicians, professional staff, administrative and business support staff, cleaners, canteen staff and estate management staff.

FE & 6th form Colleges Seminar 2010

This article informs branches about the National Further Education and Sixth Form College Seminar which will be held at the James Watt Centre, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th April 2010. Registrations for the event closes on Friday 26th March 2010

Sixth Pay Offer Accepted

(10/11/2009)UNISON members have voted to accept the 2009/10 phased pay offer of 2.3% on the pay spine. Details of the new salary scales and a joint circular are attached. The new scales apply from 1 September 2009.

The rise means that the new minimum hourly rate for staff in sixth form colleges is £6.31from September 2009 rising to £6.36 in April 2010. Please contact head office if your college is paying below these rates.
