UNISON represents around 15,000 members working either in or with the ConneXions Service and existing careers service companies in England.
Our members include careers advisers, secretaries, administrators and other support staff, youth and community workers and education welfare officers, social workers, personal advisers, careers advisers, careers assistants and employment advisers.

This bulletin provides details of the seminar for UNISON representatives and stewards working in the Careers/Connexions sector and UNISON members working in the Youth and Community sector will be held on Tuesday, 9 February 2010 at Friends House, Euston Road, London (map attached in the bulletin). The seminar will run from 10.30 a.m. until 4.00 p.m. Delegates are welcome to register from 9.15 a.m. Closing date is 4 January 2010

The Skills Development Framework lays out some of the current thinking of how to help equip the workforce to improve outcomes for young people. Many accept that the present youth workforce is characterised by a strong degree of fragmentation.

The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) is a single agency that will check everyone who works or volunteers with children and vulnerable adults.
