UNISON represents around 15,000 members working either in or with the ConneXions Service and existing careers service companies in England.
Our members include careers advisers, secretaries, administrators and other support staff, youth and community workers and education welfare officers, social workers, personal advisers, careers advisers, careers assistants and employment advisers.
What we are doing now
(21/04/2008) Please find attached the UNISON response to the Department for Children, Schools and Families consultation on Youth Sector Support Arrangements. The consultation explores how to improve the capacity, coherence and quality of support arrangements for youth sector professionals, volunteers and organisations.
(4/04/2008)UNISON,the UK’s largest public sector union, today (2 April) warned of a recruitment crisis following the announcement on the new childcare workers registration fee. The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) is a single agency that will check everyone who works or volunteers with children and vulnerable adults.
