Where you work

As a member of the support staff in an academy school you deserve recognition for your professionalism and dedication.

UNISON is the biggest union for school support and professional staff in the country. For more information, download our leaflet: UNISON the union for support staff in academies http://www.unison.org.uk/acrobat/18078.pdf

UNISON negotiates with individual academies and we also have recognition agreements with several academy sponsors and are building these relationships to support our members.

Trade union recognition and agreements

In new Academies, The TUC Model Agreement for Academies in England should be used to assist trade unions in negotiations with new academies.

If employers do not accept the full TUC agreement please use the Guidance Note and Key Principles as a basis for negotiations.
