Health and safety

Health and safety is a top priority for UNISON. Last year more than 1,000,000 injuries and 258 deaths were reported in the workplace. 24.3 million working days were lost and more than 27,000 people were forced to give up work due to injury. Since 1999 UNISON has won over £40,000,000 in compensaton for members involved in work related personal injury cases.

If you have a health and safety issue at work, get in touch with your workplace representative, health and safety rep, or your branch secretary (see About Us page for your branch secretary's details).

For more information and resources on health and safety, visit the UNISON national health and safety pages.

Get involved in health and safety
