Communicating with members
Members like to be reminded that they are part of a network and that UNISON is actively working for their benefit. There are many ways to stay in touch with members and update them on branch activities, as well as national campaigns. Staying connected motivates members and reminds them that they are part of a larger community.Web
Not everyone has access to the web but if a significant number of your members are able to use a computer at home or at work, it might be worth creating a website. A website is a quick way of disseminate information and can be updated relatively easily. We have designed a web template that can form the basis of your branch site.

Newsletter
A branch newssheet is essential. It's a way to get all sorts of information to members. It has the advantage of giving a consistent message - everyone gets the same information. Often, especially when the branch is short of stewards or where members are scattered in small workplaces, it will be the only regular contact the member has with the branch.
