England's Olympic Silver Medallists Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms soaked up the weight of pressure and expectation from a vibrant home crowd to become Yonex All England Champions in March 2005 at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham. The first English winners since Simon Archer and Jo Goode in 1999.

A record NIA crowd for the All England witnessed a fantastic performance from the home duo and also took part in a tremendous atmosphere which was truly memorable for all those who had the pleasure of being there. Both Saturday and Sunday (Semi-Finals and Finals) were sold out for the first time at The NIA.

England have other stars hoping to do well in Birmingham too! National men's singles champion Aamir Ghaffar loves to play in front of the Birmingham crowd while Rajiv Ouseph England's bright young star is ready to show his skills following his European U19 Men's singles success.

But the All England is never just about the England players, the stars of world badminton can be expected in England once again to take part in the world's greatest and most prestigious badminton grand prix tournament. This is your chance to once again see the all time greats such as Chen Hong, Gao Ling, Mohammed Hafiz Hashim and Mia Audina. The great Dane Peter Gade is also expected to make another tilt at the Men's Singles crown after coming so close in 2005.

This year the Yonex All England Championships takes place at The NIA, Birmingham January 18-22.
