About this job

This job is based at UNISON’s award-winning building, situated in central London between Euston and Kings Cross.

This is a varied and responsible role as our membership system consists of 1.3 million members and is accessed by almost 2,000 staff and activists spread across 12 Regional offices, National Office, UNISON Direct and over 800 Branches. This role will include:

  • Ensure data and system integrity is maintained within our core membership system by using business intelligence systems.
  • Extracting and managing data and developing management reports for staff and activists at all levels.
  • The design, testing and implementation of system changes within the membership system.

Primarily you will have excellent technical skills and you have used business intelligence systems and languages like SQL to interrogate membership databases.

You will understand the principles of software development, configuration management and the software release processes so that system change can be managed in a co-ordinated and efficient way.

You will have experience of documenting business systems including test plans and you will be familiar with a variety of methods like flowcharts, entity modelling and data flow processes.

You will then use this technical documentation to work within formal change management and project management controls.

You will have excellent communication skills as you work with users and other stakeholders to review and analyse business requirements, identify their needs as part of change management, and implement any new standard business processes. You will provide technical support and advice to colleagues within the department who support our membership application.
