UNISON LGBT conference Ð 20-22 November, Cardiff
LGBT UNISON members can still register to attend this yearÕs LGBT conference as visitors though delegate registration has now closed. Details at http://www.unison.org.uk/file/B4591.pdf . The final agenda is under preparation and will be sent to those attending conference in week beginning 26 October. Minimum wage increase
As of 1 October, the minimum wage increases to £5.80 for workers aged 22 and over, £4.83 for people aged 18-21 and £3.57 for 16 and 17 year olds. Workplace blood donor sessions
UNISON has received a positive response from the NHS Blood and Transplant Service to our concerns about people unable to give blood Ð such as men who have sex with men - being made to feel very uncomfortable, indeed sometimes being outed, during workplace blood donor sessions. If this has happened to you, please send your story to out@unison.co.uk. We will not pass identifying information on to NHSBT without your permission.
